During the winter, Oakland's billboards fall apart. The vinyl bags shred and fall into the street. This is Shattuck Ave. Oakland CA. Then we get these "combination" billboards. Here is a reminder to buckle up combined with Hennesey. The primary audience for billboards is people in cars-- so it makes sense to put up a "buckle up" billboard. But, last time I checked, drinking and driving is illegal-- so how can they advertise drinking to drivers?? I guess the message is "if you drink and drive, please make it Hennesey, and please buckle up." Another favorite "combination" billboard I saw on San Pablo Ave. said "Hennesey" "Healthcare." |
